EARLY this year, Patience Tropo was appointed as board member of the International Federation for Information Technologies and Travel and Tourism (IFITT).
The IFITT is one of the leading independent global communities for the discussion, exchange and development of knowledge about the use and impact of new information and communications technology (ICT) in the travel and tourism industry and experience.
Its mission is to share knowledge, experience, and a true passion for ICT in travel and tourism, being relevant for the industry and responsible for society at large, as well as ensuring scientific excellence, according to its website.
IFITT board has 16 members who are from the United Kingdom, United States of America, Austria, Germany, Spain, France, Finland, Australia and Zambia.
Patience is the only African (and first Zambian) sitting on the board. She is the director for IFITT affiliated countries like Australia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Latin America.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
