CONSTRUCTION of a mini hospital in Nsumbu at a cost of K20 million has started, provincial medical director Kennedy Chibwe has
Dr Chibwe said the two-year project is expected to service over 30,000 people of Nsumbu and Nsama districts.
“We are very excited that there is a new project in Nsumbu where a mini hospital is being constructed under the Lake Tanganyika project. It will service the people of Nsumbu and Nsama,” he said.
In an interview recently, Dr Chibwe said the health authorities in the province are excited about the project because health care delivery is being brought closer to the people.
He said the project is being carried out by Divine Links, a local contractor of Kabwe.
And Dr Chibwe said the construction of the remaining health posts in the province under the 650 projects countrywide is still being awaited.
“We are still waiting for the contractors that are currently carrying out the works in other parts of the country. We can assure the communities that the health posts will be completed as soon as the contractor is on site,” Dr Chibwe said.
