THE National Sports Council of Zambia (NCSZ) has suspended the Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) executive for alleged misappropriation of funds.
NSCZ acting general secretary Raphael Mulenga said in a statement released in Lusaka yesterday that the executive has been suspended to pave way for investigations.
“NSCZ will allow thorough investigations to be undertaken to ascertain the allegations,” he said.
Mulenga said an interim executive will take charge for three months.
And former ZCU president Reuben Chama was not reachable.
The interim committee has Zuber Patel as president, vice-president Moffat Mbewe and Lemmy Bwalya as general secretary.
The treasurer is Yunus Essa while Sebatian Mulenga, Ketan Patel, Kwasik Patel and Kalepesh Patel are committee members.
Mulenga said in three months, the interim executive is expected to reorganise the game in the country and that clubs should be active.
