Nonina’s manager warns Catherine

SOUTH African boxer Bukiwe Nonina’s manager Emmanuel Mutavhaksindu has warned World Boxing Council (WBC) silver bantamweight champion Catherine Phiri to brace for a tough fight.
And Photo Life studios have become the latest sponsor for the November 22 fight.
Mutavhaksindu said in a phone interview from Johannesburg yesterday that his boxer has intensified training.
“We are taking this fight seriously. Catherine should not expect an easy fight because my boxer is determined to win the WBC title. This is a great opportunity for her and we are not taking it lightly,” he said.
Mutavhaksindu believes his boxer has all it takes to grab the belt from Phiri and that the South African pugilist is not in the sport by chance.
But Phiri is not moved with the threats saying she will not be distracted by anything.
“I only hope she is not just training through the mouth. Talking and fighting are two different things. I am ready for the challenge and I am training hard for it,” she said.
And Photo Life has given Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions a K10,000 sponsorship deal over a period of 10 months.
The studio will be taking photographs for all the fights.
Journalist Oscar Malipenga was awarded a one-year photo sponsorship deal worth K12,000.
Malipenga won the deal through a raffle.
