FOLLOWING reports of marauding elephants being spotted in different parts of Southern Province, a wildlife expert has warned people against getting close to the animals.
Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) Kariba area management warden Alex Situmbeko says even taking selfies with the elephants from close proximity could prove risky.
Elephants have been reported moving around different parts of Southern Province and on Sunday they killed two people in Kalomo including a 77-year-old woman who was harvesting groundnuts in her field.
Mr Situmbeko said elephants are agitated by camera flashlights, which could lead to them attacking those using them.
