Letter to the Editor

No one is above the law, mines

Dear editor,
WHEN laws are passed by Parliament on behalf of the people, the same are expected to be obeyed by all sundry including corporate bodies and multinationals.
lt is therefore disturbing to hear that some mining bodies are not prepared to pay recently enacted mine taxes unless they prune workers.
My plea to these people is please surrender these assets to other people willing to operate under same laws and make profits.
The Government is on contract with the Zambian people to improve their lives.
Let it be known that this country has no room for arm twisters.
M. MWELWA
