GOVERNMENT has proposed a number of revenue measures including the introduction of tax on shopping malls after the removal of customs duty rebates.
The tax rebate in the past has contributed to mushrooming of shopping malls in Lusaka, other cities and towns in the country.
Presenting the 2019 national budget to Parliament yesterday, Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe said Government has proposed the removal of customs duty rebates on construction of shopping malls to further rationalise incentives.
The budget is themed ‘Delivering fiscal consolidation for sustainable and inclusive growth’.
