GOVERNMENT says no one will go hungry despite disappointing rains experienced in some parts of the country.
Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya says crops have withered in some parts of the country due to poor rainfall patterns.
Ms Siliya was speaking on Monday in Berlin on the sidelines of the Germany/Africa Business Association meeting.
“In Southern Province, parts of Western and Eastern provinces, we have seen that there has been drought. We have experienced no rains in those areas leading to the failure of crops like maize,” she said.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by first secretary for press at the Zambian mission in Germany Kellys Kaunda.
