Nkana edge Roan

DEFENDING champions Nkana yesterday put back on track their title aspirations when they edged tail-enders Roan United in a Super Division rescheduled Week 19 match at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba and midfielder Francis Simwanza contributed a goal each to push Roan closer to the exit door.
Kampamba opened the scoring on 21 minutes after pouncing on a loose ball following some loose marking.
Simwanza doubled the lead in the 58th minute with a superb header off Kelvin Mubanga’s free kick.
Roan pulled one back on 73 minutes when Arthur Kaseloki curled in a free kick into the top right corner with goalkeeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga beaten.
Nkana have 36 points, 10 behind leaders Power Dynamos while Roan have 16.
Nkana have a game in hand against Nakambala Leopards and are waiting for a ruling over the abandoned match against Kabwe Warriors.
