NIPA student goes in 5 days over marijuana

A NATIONAL Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) student will spend the next five days in jail after being convicted of being in possession of 0.4 grammes of marijuana.
The verdict comes barely a fortnight after a University of Zambia (UNZA) student was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for trafficking in marijuana.
Yesterday, Magistrate Judith Chiyaika sentenced Chiza Chilanga, a 24-year-old Information and Communications Technology student, after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of psychotropic substances.
On August 27 this year, Drug Enforcement Commission officers received information that there were people dealing in suspected drugs at a named chemist in Lusaka’s central business district.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
