Ngabwe district cut off

NGABWE chiefdom in Ngabwe district has been cut off from the rest of Central Province following the breakdown of a 15-tonne capacity pontoon on Kafue River.
The new district is made up of Mukubwe and Ngabwe chiefdoms which are divided by Kafue River and the affected chiefdom is mainly accessed through the Kabwe-Ngabwe road.
Ngabwe District Council chairperson Tshili Mizinga said water has been entering into the vacuum of the pontoon, damaging the vessel.
“This is the pontoon that connects Mukubwe and Ngabwe and it has for almost two years been having leakages,” Ms Mizinga said.
