New road thrills West residents

CHIMWEMWE MWALE, ELIZABETH CHATUVELA, Limulunga
EUPHORIA yesterday gripped residents of Tapo in Limulunga district as President Lungu commissioned the Mongu-Tapo stretch of the US$286 million Mongu-Kalabo road, which has a record 26 bridges, and is the most expensive single road project in Zambia.
It was a rare spectacle as the Litunga, the traditional leader of the Lozi, who is rarely seen in public, attended the historic occasion.
The Litunga was on hand to receive President Lungu and led him in a traditional Lozi procession on a straw ‘carpet’ before they settled to confer in a traditional reed shelter amidst royal song and dance.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
