Never lose hope

THE world is full of hitches such that it is impossible to find someone who can claim that he or she has never encounter drawbacks in life.
These drawbacks come in different forms, ranging from easy to handle to the most complicated ones.
Some of life’s setbacks can be described as heartbreaking and devastating because they engrave indelible marks upon our lives or leave us in despair.
In an encounter with emotional and devastating drawbacks, we may reach an extent of being tempted to lose hope of seeing light because the thicket of darkness seems too much for us to anticipate the turnaround of events.
Hope is the most precious thing one should always cling to in life when drawbacks, no matter how grave, tempt us to lose hope.
Hope is not escapism from the reality but acceptance of the present drawback to the fullest of its intensity while believing that change is inevitable.
Father F Antonisamy defines hope as “To believe in the possibilities which are not easily available or within reach.”
Loss of hope is loss of reason that ignites the ability to keep on striving towards healing or liberation until the desired change is attained.
Psalm 73:21-23 and 26 say, “When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered. I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. My flesh and my heart may fail me but God is the strength of my heart.”
Grief and bitterness of the spirit are expressions of the gloomy deepest emotional pain that result in unbearable devastating life drawbacks.
Though struck with such devastating setbacks, the quotation shows that there is hope in God who is always present and he gives strength beyond human ability to fight.
