NETBALL national team coach Charles Zulu is confident the team will excel at next weekend’s 2015 Diamond Challenge in South Africa.
Zulu said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that the team is ready for the four- nation event that will run from June 18-21 in Durban.
“The Diamond Challenge is very competitive tournament because all the teams that are participating deserve to be there. They qualified for the tournament. This is a good platform for us to prepare for the Africa Cup in Namibia and the World Cup in Australia,” he said.
The Africa Cup is slated for July 20-31 in Windhoek while the World Cup will run from August 7-16 in Sydney.
He named other teams competing in the tournament as Uganda, Malawi and host South Africa.
Zulu has urged the players to remain focused for the two international events.
“We have 18 players in camp and we will announce the final team of 14 players on Sunday. From South Africa, we go straight to Namibia for the Africa Cup tournament,” he said.
The team is expected to leave for South Africa on Sunday.
