Nchelenge police arrest child seller

POLICE in Nchelenge have arrested a man of Chieftainess Kanyembo’s area for allegedly attempting to sell his 3-year-old nephew at K6,000.
This comes barely three days after another man was arrested in Nakonde for allegedly trying to sell his three-year-old son.
In the latest case, Joseph Chansa allegedly took the child to sell it to a businessman in the area because he wanted to raise money for starting a business.
Luapula Province Commissioner of Police Elias Chushi said the child was left in the custody of Chansa, who took advantage of its parents’ absence to try to sell it.
Mr Chushi said in an interview that the incident happened on Thursday around 18:00 hours.
“Chibangu Felemu, 36, a businessman, said Chansa approached him in the shop and told him he had a child he was offering for sale and the following day, he took the child to the shop to sell it
