Nchanga Open attract 100 players

DEFENDING champion Edgar Kazembe is among 100 players that have confirmed availability for the Nchanga Open Tennis Championship in Chingola, getting underway tomorrow.
Zambia Tennis Association national officiating director Ray Masika said in a statement issued in Kitwe yesterday that the tournament has attracted top players.
Kazembe won the title in 2012 when it was last held.
Masika named the other top players as Nkumbu Chonya, Henry Banda and Andrew Mukupa.
In the women category, Zambia’s number one Maggie Zulu will not be in action.
Masika said Mambwe Mwansa, Maggie Mutale and Priscilla Kapungwe among others will be on the court at Nchanga Rackets Club.
The winner in the men’s category will pocket K4,000 while the runner-up will walk away with K3,000.
In the women’s category, the winner will receive K3,000 and K2,000 is for the runner-up.
Masika said K60,s000 has been raised for the tournament that will end on Sunday.
