NCC should reduce fees

Dear editor,
I agree with the sentiments made by the National Empowerment Forum (NEF) over the exorbitant fees charged by the National Construction Council and strings to register as a contractor.
It is quite true that Government definitely needs to intervene so the the council can reduce the registration fees which are too high.
The local contractors are suffering as they do not have finances but the foreigners have dominated the industry.
We want authorities to help so that this can enable local contractors who are wallowing in poverty to conduct business in our own country.
I urge the NEF to pressurise our government so that NCC reduce fees in all areas and help local contractors benefit in doing business.
The NEF should ensure that regular meeting are held to review  their performance and challenges they are facing.
