Mweetwa preaches against match fixing

FORMER Chipolopolo striker Nchimunya Mweetwa has regretted his involvement in match fixing and has urged sports personalities to resist temptations of falling prey to the vice.
Mweetwa was convicted of match fixing in 2011 with six other Zambian players – Godfrey Chibanga, Chileshe Chibwe, Francis Kombe, Stephen Kunda, Christopher Musonda and Chanda Mwaba and two Georgians Pavle Khorguashvili and Valter Khorguashvili while playing for Finnish side Rovaniemi Palloseura (RoPs).
The players were later handed a two-year ban each by world soccer governing body FIFA.
During the launch of the Nchimunya Mweetwa Foundation in Lusaka on Tuesday, the former Kitwe United and Zesco United forward said he does not want to see any sportsman or woman fall prey to match fixing.
