LORITA Mwango is leading the women’s category at the 2016 Zimbabwe Open Chess Championship with five points.
Mwango has won all the five games to claim sole leadership in Harare.
Linda Shaba, who is also undefeated is on second position with 4.5 points while Phyllis Mwilola is on four points at par with Rhodha Masiyazi and Paidaishe Zengeni both of Zimbabwe.
In the men’s category, Zambians Kelvin Chumfwa and Godwin Phiri are in the driving seat with five points with two other Zimbabweans.
“It’s still a work in progress for him, he’s made some signings and from my experience in Spain it will take time for players from abroad to settle in. So, I think they should stick with it.”
