IN HIS acceptance speech after receiving the award of excellence from the African Roads Maintenance Funds Association (ARMFA) on March 13, 2019 in Swakopmund, Namibia, former National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) chief executive officer/director Anthony Mwanaumo thanked, among others, Government for the opportunity to serve in the road sector.
For Dr Mwanaumo, an agricultural economist, the six years he was at the helm of the NRFA was a time well spent.
Dr Mwanaumo served at the helm of NRFA from 2010 up to 2016.
The excellence award bestowed on him on the sidelines of the ARMFA annual general meeting is in recognition of his contribution to the road sector both in Zambia and the continent.
As he received the award, Dr Mwanaumo, who is now in the private sector, looked back to the role he played in the sector in Africa.
“I cherish the honour of receiving an award of excellence from the 35-member country ARMFA not only on my behalf, but that of my family, NRFA and my country, Zambia,” he said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
