Mwali, Jere draw in all Zambian affair

ZAMBIA’s International Masters (IM) Chitumbo Mwali and Daniel Jere on Thursday evening battled to a draw in round nine at the South Africa Open

Chess Championship.
Mwali is second while Jere is fourth although both players have seven points apiece.
The Zambian duo is tied with two other players on seven points Pon Matt of South Africa and Spencer Masango from Zimbabwe.
Mwali is second because of the superior tie breaker while Masango is third ahead of Jere.
Mwali was scheduled to play Masango last evening while Jere had a date with Joseph Mwale of Malawi.
Indian Grand Master Grover Sahaj extended the lead after beating Rodwell Makoto of Zimbabwe.
Sahaj has eight points.
The tournament ends today.
