DIANA CHIPEPO, Lusaka
RUGBY administrator Ackim Mwale has declared his intentions to challenge Clement Sinkamba for the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) presidency at next year’s elections.
Mwale, the losing presidential candidate in the 2016 ZRU elections, announced his intentions in Lusaka yesterday.
“I wish to announce my intention to stand as president of the Zambia Rugby Union at the elective general meeting to be held early 2019. I have been compelled to, once again, offer my services because the sport I love so much and which I played at the highest level for my country needs injection of a whole new approach in its administration and organisation,” he said.
Mwale, who lost 21-16 to Sinkamba, said the growth of rugby has not been significant and the country risks taking a wrong path and lose what has already been established. http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
