SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA, Lusaka
CHAMPION Alfred Muwowo will face South Africa’s Thembelani Nxoshe in defence of the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) flyweight
Muwowo claimed the ABU flyweight title last month after knocking out Tanzanian Juma Haji at Z Mart Mall in Ndola.
He floored the Tanzanian pugilist in the fifth round.
Muwowo has an impressive record of seven wins out of which six are knockouts.
Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions operations manager Christopher Malunga said in an interview yesterday that the fight is set for Government Complex in Lusaka.
“It will be a difficult bout and I urge Muwowo to prepare adequately because Nxoshe is a good boxer,” Malunga said.
Nxoshe has a record of 24 fights, 16 wins, one draw and seven losses.
Malunga said he will engage Nxoshe handlers to negotiate the terms of the fight.
