CHAMPIONS Zambia Sugar Plc today return to the track hunting for their fourth consecutive Inter-Company Relay title.
The MultiChoice Zambia-sponsored event whose theme is ‘We are one, by acting together, we can win’ is billed for the Lusaka Showgrounds.
First Lady Esther Lungu will be the guest of honour.
The First Lady will participate in the five kilometre health walk while Minister of Finance Felix Mutati will show his skill in the 10 kilometre race.
Zambia Sugar won their debut title in 2014 and since then have prevailed.
But this time Zambia Sugar should brace themselves for a tough challenge from Office of the President and Standard Chartered Bank among others.
Office of the President emerged overall winners in the government category last year while Standard Chartered Bank were champions in the commercial bank group.
The annual event has attracted over 60 companies.
The athletes will jostle for honours in the 10 kilometre relay race, 100m chief executive officers race, director’s race, kid’s athletics and a special 21 kilometre race.
Inter-Company Relay organisers will provide participants with free health services such as screening and testing for breast and cervical cancer, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and HIV/AIDS among others.
