MUNA Singh junior on Sunday won the 2015 Samfuel Rally at Mindolo Dam in Kitwe relegating elder brother Jassy into second position.
The-20-year- old driver from Dirtstar Racing team is top on the national standings with one round left.
Last weekend’s rally was the seventh of the eight-legged national championship.
Muna clocked 1:13:30hours, 16 seconds better than Jassy while Zubair Essa was third on 1:18:54hours.
Former African champion Muhammed Essa dropped out of the race after his vehicle developed an engine fault.
Only 11 drivers out of the 21 that entered the race managed to finish while 10 dropped out.
Farook Ticklay and Miles Monge dropped out after their Subaru N12 B flipped.
Kyle Latife and Balveen Singh also dropped out after their car careered off the road.
Muna junior is excited over his first rally victory.
“Wow!!! My first ever victory in the sport of rally, I am over the moon with my first win. All the glory goes to the almighty God that I serve! Without you, I would have never been able to even compete in the event,†he said.
And Muna senior is proud that his boys were following in his foot-steps.
“But I am even more proud that I am a father to all kids in motor sport. We are doing very well. These kids can drive and the pace is becoming faster,†said the two-time African champion.
