ZIO MWALE, Lusaka
EVEN with all the drama surrounding him and his ‘soul mate’ Wezi, folk musician Mumba Yachi still has had enough time on his hands to work on two albums which he will officially be launching tonight at the Alliance Française.
Both albums, featuring an array of artistes and 10 songs each, are titled The Great Works or Gee Wee.
Mumba Yachi told the Weekend Mail in Lusaka that he decided to launch two albums at once because he wants to challenge his creativity by doing something unique and great.
“As I am unique, I need to do unique things just like a woman giving birth to twins,” he said.
“My fans can just buy my albums to support my music, the songs are from all corners of Zambia, and it’s an album that gives identity.”
The launch at Alliance Française, to be hosted by Dr Mannaseh Phiri, will be graced by other artistes who include Nyemba, Kantu, Kasolo, Clique and Marocco.
The past few months have been busy for Mumba Yachi, either him releasing singles or featuring on other releases by other artistes. Some of the recent releases are I Miss You while he also featured on They Betrayed Me by Antony Lennox.
