Muliashi mine seeks option in Luanshya

CHINA Non-Ferrous Metal Mining Luanshya Copper Mine says it will stop blasting at Muliashi in October this year as other ore bodies will be considered for exploration.And a team of Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit DMMU) and CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines (LCM) on Friday conducted an assessment into the cause of cracks at the over 140 houses in Mpatamatu township’s Section 27 in Luanshya.
LCM deputy manager Robert Kamanga said the blasting will end in October as other ore bodies will be considered for exploration.
Mr Kamanga said the firm conducted consultations through EIA and community before blasting started.
