TEACHERS at Kabanga Primary School in Mufumbwe have fled the school due to fear of witchcraft.
Mufumbwe district commissioner Mankishi Mukokwe said yesterday that pupils have stopped attending classes due to lack of teachers.
“A teacher’s wife recently became unconscious after she dreamt of a man from within the area who demanded her husband’s full name but she refused. The following morning, the woman started undressing herself and behaving strangely after she disclosed the matter to her husband and family members,” Ms Mukokwe said.
She said this caused fear and panic amongst the teachers at the school, who then fled the area with their families.
She, however, confirmed being unable to travel to Kabanga to verify the reports because the area is flooded.
