MUFULIRA on Saturday enhanced their chances of surviving relegation when they beat Prisons in a National Rugby League (NRL) rescheduled match at Mufulira Rugby Field.
Mufulira’s victory did not have an impact on the top four teams on the NRL standings.
Leaders Red Arrows are in driving seat with 47 points, 13 better than second-placed Chibuluma.
John Mambwe scored a try which was converted by Innocent Nkandu to seal Mufulira’s victory.
Prisons scored a penalty and a drop goal through Patrick Ngushi and Changwa Mukosha, respectively.
NCHANGA 6 BUFFALOES 24
Green Buffaloes made a giant stride towards bouncing back to the big league when they demolished Nchanga in a Division Two rescheduled match in Chingola.
Riven Kunda scored a brace of tries with Chipo Mubagwe and Stanley Kalasa contributing one try apiece.
Kieen Kunda only managed to deliver two conversions.
Nchanga got consolation points through Ngosa Kawayo.
