POWER Dynamos midfielder Kennedy Mudenda and two other players are nursing injuries and may not feature for the national team in Sunday’s international friendly against Sudan.
But national team coach Honour Janza said all the 25 players will be assessed by the Chipolopolo medics.
Mudenda and defensive midfielder Richard Kasonde had pulled muscles during their team’s MTN Super Division Week 21 match against Zesco United at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.
Power coach Tenant Chilumba, who confirmed the injuries, withdrew Mudenda four minutes into the match and replaced him with Kobe Chipeta while Kasonde limped off at the start of the second half.
Goalkeeper Joshua Titima was also stretchered off the pitch in Power’s 2-1 win over Zesco.
The friendly against Sudan billed for Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium is a build-up for the 2015 Morocco Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique set for September 6 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Cape Verde and Niger are the other teams in Group F.
On the injuries, Janza said national team medics led by Joseph Kabungo will assess the players and will inform him whether they are fit or not.
“Everybody has to assemble in Lusaka this evening [last night] and the doctors will give us their position. Injuries have different levels and in football you expect knocks. Our medical team will assess the players,†Janza said.
