MAYENGO NYIRENDA, Chipata
PARAMOUNT Chief Mpezeni is happy with Government’s assurance that the contractor working on Chipata-Vubwi road will soon resume work
on the stretch.
He commended Government for the strides it is making in taking development to all sectors across the country.
The paramount chief was speaking through his Induna Ladislas Lupoko at Mwami Adventist Hospital after welcoming a team of 74 medical doctors from the United States of America on Tuesday.
“I am happy the construction works of Chipata–Vubwi road will soon resume after being abandoned by the contractor for a long time,” he said.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said once the road is done, many people will have easy access to Seventh day Adventist-run Mwami Mission Hospital.
He said the road will also open up Vubwi district to other neighbouring districts.
Government recently released money to China Jiangxi, the contractor of road that had allegedly abandoned the road project earlier due to erratic funding by Government.
And the traditional leader has commended President Lungu for his cordial relationship with other countries.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said President Lungu’s good relationship with other countries is bringing development as evidenced from a team of Christian doctors from America who are in the country to conduct free medical check-ups and surgeries at Mwami Mission Hospital.
He is happy with the work the visiting doctors are carrying out of helping the needy and the sick.
