Mopani keeps 3,000 jobs

JOHAN JANSEN

HONE SIAME, Kitwe
PRESIDENT Lungu yesterday commissioned the sinking of deep shafts at the Mopani Copper Mines (MCM) at Mindola in Kitwe and Mufulira operations which will cost US$559 million aimed at sustaining 3,000 jobs and extending the lifespan of the mines by 25 to 30 years.
And President Lungu has assured investors in the mining sector that the Patriotic Front (PF) administration will continue providing a conducive economic environment to attract more investments to the sector.
Mr Lungu said the two capital expansion projects are a clear testimony of the PF’s firm commitment towards the growth of the mining industry and a sign that Zambia is still the preferred destination for mining investment.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
