MINISTER of General Education Dennis Wanchinga said the recent media reports about 70 teenagers who were arrested for attending an alleged sex party are unfortunate and should not be encouraged among school children.
“As a ministry, our hands are tied. We cannot take any action because we have not yet established if there were school children among them. Even if there were school children, Government does not interfere in issues that happen outside the school premises, especially during holidays,” Dr Wanchinga said.
He said parents have the responsibility of inculcating morals in their children and they should not only wait on Government to take action as it has been conducting awareness campaigns on the dangers of indulging in illicit activities.
