Miss Heritage Zambia on

THE Miss Heritage Zambia 2015 finals to select the country’s representative to the Miss Heritage World finals to be held in South Africa, is on tonight at the Zambia Institute for Mass Communication (Zamcom) Lodge in Lusaka.
At last year’s world finals, Zambia was represented by Tina Shinga, who also got an award for Most Photogenic Model.
Naomi Banda, who is organising the pageant, named the finalists as Thengiwe Phiri, Namakau Kayombo, Musowe Munkombwe, Lukaki Nyemba, Theresa Chishala, Tabitha Mvula, Adessy Banda, Cecilia Kongwa, Liyah Phiri, Melody Chileshe, Jessica Naluonde, Louisa Chingangu and Emily Limpic.
The mission statement for Miss Heritage is to fuse beauty pageantry and heritage into a quality entertaining, educative life transforming and nationally integrating tool that enhances development for universal heritage promotion, preservation and heritage promotion by the use of beauty queens as ambassadors.
Meanwhile, Positive Runway: Global Catwalk to Stop the Spread, is sending red ribbon model and current Miss Lusaka Candy Lupale to represent Zambia at the 2015 world finals of the Face of Beauty International Model Competition which will be held in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, in October.
Positive Runway, run by Justina Mutale, is a voluntary global HIV/AIDS response campaign that tours the world working with beauty queens, models, fashion designers, music artistes and celebrities from film, music, television, sport and other arts as influential advocates in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS and other scourges affecting today’s young generation.
Candy was Miss Tourism Zambia 2013 winner and Miss Southern Africa Zambia First Runner-Up.
The Face of Beauty International, which is aimed at developing young female leaders from around the world, was created in 2012 as Miss Teen Face of Beauty International 2012 before changing the name and growing its international profile.
This year’s edition, the fourth, will have more than 60 contestants for the title in Taiwan between October 4 and 19. Face of Beauty International 2014, Gimena Ghilarducci of Argentina, will join the crowning of the new title holder.
