Minister demands ‘fare’ deal

TRANSPORT and Communication Minister Brian Mushimba.

NANCY SIAME and CECILIA ZULU, Lusaka
GOVERNMENT has warned public service transporters against increasing fares beyond the agreed 22 percent because they risk having their licences revoked.
Minister of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba said in an interview that Government and bus operators have agreed on a 22 percent bus fare increase and he expects everyone to abide by the agreement.
“We have a good relationship with transporters and a process was followed to arrive at the 22 percent,” he said.
The minister said the agreed-upon 22 percent is expected to cover the recently hiked fuel pump prices, revised minimum wage and other costs.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
