Minimum PSV age should be 30

Dear editor,
THE recent running over of a traffic officer was a sad and unacceptable development in our country. Honestly, a normal, mature driver who behaves like that, dragging a defenceless human being underneath a car for a distance of about 50 metres is not only inhuman but barbaric.
No wonder some of us who have been driving for more than 20 years and aged above 30 have been calling for increase of the public service vehicle ( PSV) drivers’ age to 30.
The behavior of some of the drivers, especially the younger ones, is unacceptable.
They shout at anyone, stop on the road; they do anything that pleases them.
I appeal to the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to revoke drivers’ licences of such unruly drivers.
