Miners’ salary negotiations stall

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Kitwe
THE Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) says most mining companies have allegedly refused to award their workers decent salary increments in ongoing negotiations.

Since the collective bargaining process started last year, the labour movement has only clinched agreements with the Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC), Chibuluma Mines, Suncrest Coal Mining Company and Chambishi Metals.
MUZ is still struggling to conclude negotiations with Mopani Copper Mines, Luanshya Copper Mines and Chambeshi Non- Ferrous Mining Corporation.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
