Mine Police coach’s job hangs in balance

COACH Bruce Mwape is not sure of his future with demoted Konkola Mine Police following Konkola Copper Mines (KCM)’s  decision to withdraw sponsorship of the Chililabombwe outfit.
Mwape said in an interview in Chililabombwe yesterday that he has learnt about KCM’s decision to stop sponsoring the team with sadness.
He said he is still in charge of the team despite what has happened but could not state whether he will be available for the 2015 season.
“I am still with Konkola Mine Police but it is too early to say much,” Mwape said.
He urged his players to be calm and not rush into making wrong decisions.
Konkola Mine Police were relegated to Division One at the end of last season alongside Indeni, Kabwe Warriors and Roan United.
Meanwhile, Mwape has described defender Stopilla Sunzu’s move to China’s Shanghai Shenhua as retrogressive and an indication that Zambian players lack good advisors.
He said the Chinese league is for players that had played at the higher level before and won everything, not players’ of Sunzu’s calibre.
