Mimbula Minerals feasibility study to start

KALONDE NYATI, Lusaka
FEASIBILITY studies to pave way for the commencement of copper production at Mimbula Minerals Limited in Chingola will start in two months’ time, company director Marcel Nally has disclosed.
Mr Nally said in an interview that the mining firm, which is a subsidiary of British firm Moxico Resources plc, plans to inject between US$60 million – US$90 million in the development of an open-pit mine and smelter, once feasibility studies are concluded within a period of 18 months.
The mining firm anticipates to produce 20,000 tonnes of copper annually.
“Most of the drilling has been done, preliminary economic assessment and we have identified the size of deposits and grade, and next is to do metallurgical test work so that we can see the best processing route for the project,” he said.
