CHRISTINE CHIHAME, Mansa
MILENGE district commissioner Kunda Chibilo has warned of stern action against civil servants who are failing to execute their duties effectively because of excessive consumption of beer, especially
Mr Chibilo said in an interview that the district administration is concerned about the retrogressive tendency by some civil servants of prioritising beer drinking at the expense of adding value to the civil service.
He said what saddens him most is that the civil servants in question have gone on rampage abusing kachasu, which has potential to ruin their lives and retard development in the area.
He said in an interview yesterday that all civil servants should be part of the winning team.
“We should all avoid vices that will hamper our vision. I would like to strongly condemn excessive consumption of beer, especially illicit ones, kachasu,”Mr Chibilo said.
He said he would not tolerate any excuse by civil servants for failing to perform.
“I therefore declare that I will not tolerate and embrace any officer who would want me or us as a team to fail or want to assist me to fail,” he said.
Mr Chibilo said all civil servants in the area should be eager to push the district forward to higher and recognition levels.
He also condemned any tribalism and atheism in the district, saying that all should lead by the one Zambia principle.
Mr Chibilo also implored all the heads of government departments to consider employing the local people.
