STRUGGLING Super Division Mufulira Wanderers have signed Congolese defender Pele Bulekwaye and seven others to bolster their squad.
Bulekwaye has trekked to Shinde Stadium from relegation-threatened side Real Nakonde.
Other notables are Young Buffaloes goalkeeper Edson Phiri, midfielders Aubrey Chamulwanda and Lackson Bwalya from Nkana.
Wanderers coach Wilson Mwale said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that the players will help the legendary outfit retain the topflight status.
Mwale said the technical bench is working hard to ensure the team competes favourably in the remaining games.
“We are on course…we are still in the process of building the team but all I can say is that so far so good. We will reach there very soon,” said Mwale, who refused to disclose the names of the other four players.
He is confident Wanderers will survive relegation.
“Come what may come, we will not go down. It is a must we are going to survive relegation. We are a very big team, we cannot afford to go back to the lower division.
“I am appealing to all our supporters to remain calm. We need their support for us to achieve our goal. We need to continue working hard as a team,” he said.
Third-from-bottom Wanderers, who take on City of Lusaka today in a Week 21 match at Woodlands Stadium, have 15 points.
