‘Messi jailing lesson to Zambia’

THEO-DEMOCRATIC Alliance chairperson John Mwendapole says the jailing of prominent footballer Lionel Messi for tax fraud is a wake-up call for those refusing to pay tax arrears they owe to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to do so without resorting to “evasive tactics”.
Argentina and Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for tax evasion.
His father, Jorge Messi, was also given a jail term for defrauding Spain of €4.1m (£3.5m; US$4.5 million) between 2007 and 2009.READ MORE
