DARLINGTON MWENDABAI, Chipata
EASTERN province regional deputy commander Emmanuel Mulimine has warned men and women in uniform to refrain from vices such as gender-based violence (GBV) and those found wanting risk being dismissed.
He said the defence force upholds the values of discipline and order and will not tolerate anyone engaging in social vices such as GBV, drug abuse and excessive alcohol intake as well as politics.
Colonel Mulimine said the defence force does not expect any officer in uniform to engage in vices that will not only tarnish the image of the army but destroy their families as well.
Col Mulimine was speaking during the 2017 Zambia National Defence Force Day celebration at David Kaunda stadium in Chipata recently.
He said the defence force is non-partisan adding that its main duty is to serve the Government of the day and protect the nation.
