President Banda, who is accompanied by First Lady Thandiwe, arrived at Mfuwe International Airport at 13: 40 hours from South Africa.

The President was in Ethiopia where he attended the African Union Summit before flying to South Africa for medical check-up.

Mr Banda described the death of the Milanzi MP as a great loss to the nation because he was a humble and dedicated worker.

He urged MMD members in the province to remain united as they mourn the late Mr Banda who died at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka following injuries sustained in a road traffic accident.

President Banda cautioned MPs to drive with care as many lives have been lost in the recent past due to road traffic accidents in the country.

Mr Banda later travelled to Chipata where he was welcomed by MMD national secretary Katele Kalumba, Minister of Home Affairs Lameck Mangani, Eastern Province Minister Isaac Banda, senior government officials and MMD party cadres.

The late Mr. Banda will be buried at his village in Milanzi Constituency in Chief Kawaza’s chiefdom in Katete today. - ZANIS.
