THE Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) says mealie-meal prices will remain stable due to the maize bumper harvest despite the increase in fuel and electricity tariffs.
Zambia has this year recorded a maize bumper harvest of 3.6 million tonnes, which has resulted in mealie-meal prices to drop to an average K45 and K55 per 25kg for roller meal and breakfast meal, respectively.
During the same period, Zesco Limited increased electricity tariffs by 75 percent and fuel pump prices have increased by about K2 on average.
