Mbola beefs up squad

ROBINSON KUNDA, Lusaka
DEFENDER Emmanuel Mbola joined the national team on Monday while striker Jacob Mulenga was expected in camp yesterday ahead of Saturday’s crucial 2015 Morocco Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger.
Mbola was part of the team that trained yesterday at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
The arrival of Mbola brings the number of foreign-based players to 11.
Others are skipper Christopher Katongo, Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala, Chisamba Lungu, Kabaso Chongo, Stopilla Sunzu, James Chamanga, Given Singuluma, Emmanuel Mayuka and Kennedy Mweene.
Football Association of Zambia communications manager Nkweto Tembwe said Turkey-based Mulenga was expected in Lusaka yesterday.
Tembwe said the players are looking forward to the encounter.
The team is expected to leave for Niamey tomorrow on a chartered plane.
And Mweene is confident Zambia will beat Niger.
He called on Zambians to continue supporting the team.
