Mayor assures Copperbelt miners

HONE SIAME, Kitwe
GOVERNMENT has assured former miners on the Copperbelt that the demarcation of their farm plots in Lufwanyama and Mufulira will begin soon.
Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe said in a statement released in Kitwe yesterday Government is mobilising resources for the demarcation of the land.
Mr Kang’ombe urged the former miners to be patient as government finalises the process of allocating them the land in line with President Lungu’s directive.
Mr Kang’ombe said the office of surveyor general has so far demarcated
land in Chingola while money is being awaited for Lufwanyama and Mufulira.
Former miners on Thursday walked to Mr Kang’ombe’s office to seek
an audience with him over delays in allocating them farm plots.
