GOVERNMENT says the massive infrastructure development it has embarked on is aimed at improving economic development and social welfare of the people.
Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Yamfwa Mukanga said during the launch of the 7th Lusaka Happening Motor Show that Government has embarked on massive road infrastructure development programmes to enhance economic activities in the country.
Mr Mukanga said Government has introduced toll gates on selected roads across the country to raise revenue to provide an effective and good road network.
He said Government will continue to provide an enabling environment and support to the motor industry because of the contribution it makes to increasing economic activity.
Mr Mukanga urged the Road Transport and Safety Agency and other law enforcement agencies to take advantage of the show to create awareness on road safety.
