‘Market chiefs burial sites for tourism’

WESTERN Province Permanent Secretary Sibanze Simuchoba says there is need to market burial grounds for Lozi kings as tourism sites.
And Prince Akashambatwa Mbikusita Lewanika says the Kuomboka ceremony for chieftainess Mbowanjikana of Kalabo and Sikongo districts is ‘special’ as it is the only event held in a sacred place where the first kings and queens of Barotseland are buried.
Mr Simuchoba said burial grounds for Lozi kings which go back 200 years are potential tourism sites.
He said the sites are unique as they are well preserved and act as a source of information for future generations.
