CHRISTINE CHIHAME, Mansa
IN an effort to save his marriage of three years, a 35-year-old man of Mansa has pleaded with the Mansa local court to help him reconcile with his wife who patronises taverns to quench her insatiable appetite for alcoholic beverages with their one-year-old baby.
Mwewa Kashiba is seeking reconciliation with Gertrude Mwaba whom he sued. They are both of Lukakula village.
Kashiba narrated before senior local court magistrate Leontina Zaloumis that when he married Mwaba, all was well until his partner started mingling with friends who were single.
He said his wife would leave home in the morning for a drinking spree and only return around 20:00 hours.
“My wife drinks beer like a man. She leaves home in the morning for a drinking spree, carrying our one-year-old baby,” he said.
He said his wife does not cook or do anything for him apart from drinking beer.
Kashiba said his wife goes to the extent of using the money meant for home to buy beer.
He said his wife left home in February this year and does not even know where she stays.
And Mwaba accused her husband of having extra-marital affairs and chasing her out of their matrimonial home.
She, however, told the court that she loves her husband and asked the court to reconcile them.
The court adjourned the matter for judgement.
